About the role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Software Asset and Licensing officer works closely with the Finance IT Category Lead and senior IT staff to manage action and manage IT procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document, manage and curate the IT software assets to ensure that licenses are well managed, reviewed for accuracy, paid in a timely manner and are re-used / allocated correctly.
  • Coordinate effective administrative processes around software asset lifecycle management and assist in driving a culture of process and savings improvement.
  • Documentation is created to encourage understanding of the software assets, key stakeholders, business purpose and function.
  • Work closely with the IT Category Lead and the team to track and monitor PO’s, receipting, and invoice processing.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships, including participation in supplier evaluation and selection and assistance in contract execution.

 

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience working in software asset and licencing management, technology procurement or IT service management and in building / maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal customer service and stakeholder management skills, including demonstrated experience in providing expert advice and recommendations and in building effective collaborative professional relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with proven attention to detail and a track record of contributing to process improvement.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Desirable experience using PeopleSoft or similar finance information systems, together with proven excellent Microsoft Office skills including intermediate / advanced Excel experience.
